Grower's Update September 2008

Well the apple harvest is in full swing and despite some rainy weekends, business has been brisk. Our antique tractor show Sept 13 was fun for the customers and tractor owners alike. We still have plenty of apples available and are now transitioning from the early fall varieties to the mid season varieties. We should be picking McIntosh and Macouns for another weekend or so and will definitely be picking Cortlands and Empire in the coming weeks. Delicious, Fuji, Spencer, and Granny Smith varieties will be available the first or second weekend of October. Unfortunately our Honeycrisp trees did not produce enough for pick-you-own however we do have them available in our farm store. Please remember that we cannot control nature so we can only estimate when certain varieties will be open for picking. I'd also like to remind folks that our farm is privately owned. We work hard to produce a quality crop and care for our trees and ask that you follow the few pick-your-own rules we have posted and respect our property. Thanks again for your business and I hope you have fun when you visit.
