October 2008 Update

Looks like a nice weekend this Oct 4 and 5 weatherwise for some apple picking! We are getting into our October varieties such as Empire, Delicious, and Cortland. We still have some earlier varieties like McIntosh and Macoun in limited quantities as well. See the Pick Your Own page at cnsmithfarminc.com for more details. And be sure to come by the farm Oct 11, 12 and 13 for our Columbus Day weekend "Hoedown" - 3 days of live music, pony rides, hay rides, pumpkin and apple picking (apple picking is NOT guaranteed to be available all 3 days this year), fresh cider and produce in the farm stand.

Do you ever do apple events or say, cider events in the community?

Unfortunately Kat we dont have much spare time or help for much beyond the farm which itself is a 7 day per week, 10 hour per day job.

My son has never been apple-picking (and I haven't been in about 17 years or so), so we're very excited to be able to see your farm!
Columbus Day weekend - will your farm be open on Monday? (I ask because I work weekend mornings in addition to a full time job during the week, so Monday is our only full day together...)
Please, pardon the babbling.
Thank you in advance. :D

Heather, and anyone else,
I recommend if at all possible you come by Saturday Oct 11 for apple picking. If the weather stays nice the pick your own orchard will most likely be PICKED OUT by MID AFTERNOON on Saturday. Pick your own pumpkins and other festivities will be going on all three days, weather permitting. Hope to see you at the farm!
